August: Dog Days and Toady Nights

August heats up with cicada buzz, monarch butterfly mania, and the cricket creep.
August, the month when that strange silence hums in your ears. The time that comes just before the sounds of school buses and and traffic choked roads.

The full August moon brings a screech owl serenade, clambering tree frogs, and bats flitting about as katydids-did. Ah, the dog days and toady nights.
What will August whisper to you?
What do you see, hear, smell and feel in August?

Get up, get out and enjoy!

  1. I just love this owl :-) Every time I come to this site, I have to visit this drawing. Owls were my favorite animal as a child. One time, an owl even perched by my window. What a treat! It's like it knew...
