April's theme is "Going GREEN!"

Greetings Scribblers!

Whether it’s spring green, eco-green, or green with envy. GO GREEN!
This month Scribblers will scramble for a fresh interpretation of this colorful statement. I for one will be eager to break into the green crayons I got for Wendy Halperins’s illustration workshop at the Spring CRAFTfest Conference in Ann Arbor next month.

The possibilities and the names of greens are endless, so DROP EVERYTHING and DRAW!

Happy Scribbling,
Lori Taylor

my son as he fishes, unleashed

I painted all plein aire, but added my son to this work recently.
When he is unleashed, he loves to fish, and go fishing with friends.

March: Quick Draw Art Challenge! Visual Storytelling

SCBWI Scribblers, are you ready?

After being inspired by the Nov/Dec 2010 SCBWI Bulletin’s article on The Illustrators’ Perspective, by Anne Sibley O’Brien, Think First, I felt that it would be challenging and fun for us to visually interpret the emotion and energy behind this month’s Scribbler theme:

                                         UNLEASHED!

Whether it’s the wild winds of March, a moment in the life of a two-year-old, or a scampering, scalliwag of a puppy, GO Scribblers and UNLEASH your creativity. Let your pen or pencil do the talking.

Drop Everything and DRAW!
