Young at ART! by Holly McDuff

For the theme, "Young at Art," I wanted to do a fairytale picture. When I was younger and even now as an adult, I'll take fairytale books out of the library and look over the beautiful pictures and it makes me feel young again. What a better way to spend a long and hot summer day!

June's Theme: "Young at ART!"

Remember those lazy, hazy summer days? Remember rushing to the mailbox for that Summer Weekly Reader? OK, so maybe that fond memory is aging me. But do you remember curling up in the shade with icy lemonade and a good book (especially one with fabulous illustrations). I’m sure it is something that most of us did as kids during summer vacation. Put on your Scribbling hat and think about what keeps you “young at art”, then go do it and then draw it.

Also, as a fun FYI, you may want to consider taking part in World Drawing Day on June 4, 2011. This world-wide event of artists dropping everything to draw day is hoping to have one million participants. For more info on this event check out the site: http://drawingday.org/

Keep Scribbling,
